Roma Soul Food at Zeleni Sejem (Green Fair)

Ljubljana, Slovenia, September 6th 2025

The Roma Soul Food project was presented at the Zeleni Sejem (Green Fair) in Ljubljana, in cooperation with the Romsko zeliščarsko društvo Romanco – Rman.

The event beautifully combined culinary traditions, herbal knowledge, and personal stories, creating a meaningful bridge between Roma heritage and today’s sustainable practices. Visitors were able to:

• Taste traditional Roma dishes prepared with care and authenticity.
• Discover the herbalist traditions of Roma communities, rooted in generations of knowledge about plants and healing.
• Listen to stories that connect food, nature, and community life.

The fair was not only a celebration of Roma culture but also an opportunity to reflect on how traditions can inspire sustainable and connected futures. Through flavors, aromas, and conversations, participants experienced firsthand how food and nature tell the stories of community, resilience, and shared humanity.
