Meet the Artist: Jovan Živadinović Dziipsi

Jovan Živadinović Dziipsi is a young Serbian musician and songwriter whose work navigates the intersection of pop, intimate music storytelling, and underground urban spirit. His debut album Zapisi iz podzemlja (2022) was recognized among the best domestic releases of the year, while tracks like Fini brid and Ponekad gained critical attention, including nominations at the Music Awards Ceremony Serbia. In 2023, he participated in Serbia’s Eurovision national selection with song Greh, further establishing his presence on the regional contemporary music scene.

Working closely with producer and songwriter Ahmed Aki Hajdarović aka Rap Gorilla, Dzipsii builds a distinctive sound that merges underground sensibility with contemporary pop expression, marking him as one of the most compelling new voices in the post-Yugoslav regional music space.

As an openly gay artist in a still conservative cultural environment, Dzipsii plays an important role in increasing LGBTQ+ visibility in the Balkans. His music often explores same-sex love and identity through nuanced, non-didactic storytelling, positioning art itself as a form of activism.

Shortly, music poetics by Dzipsii could be summarised as mix of pop, raw emotion, vulnerability, queer narratives, and underground spirit.

Recently, he is promoting his new album “Jovan” (2026) and had his first solo concert in Belgrade club “Karmakoma”.
